A stunning orignal 1960s Maison Charles Pomegranate "Grenade" lamp by Chrystiane Charles for the "Classic" range with rare solid copper shade colour way, with pinecone detailed top.  Mounted on copper base which is stamped on the reverse "Charles, Made in France". The detail on the pomegranate is highlighted in gold with wonderful quality details. Re wired with new bronze fittings, antique gold cord flex and switch.

The condition is very good for al map of this age and there is some patination on the bronze base at the back, some very light scratching. The shade is also isn ver god condition with very little scratching and no dents. OI have sold a lot of Charles lamps over the years and this one is one of the best in terms of condition and quality.

Chrystiane Charles was Born on August 2, 1927 in Pantin, she trained at the Gimont, Janniot and Saupique workshops, before joining the Charles family company created in 1908 by Ernest Charles. Faithful to the spirit of the Charles House, she ensured its artistic direction and presidency for nearly twenty-five years (1959-1982).  Her handcrafted creations, were often signed and numbered and inspired with originality by nature. Her lamps were cast in bronze with a vast collection of natural designs, including poppy seeds, water lily leaves, water leaf, iris, pomegranates, ferns, coral, bamboo, water lily, sunflower or Guadeloupe flowers… come alive between relief and reflections. Nature becomes bronze.
